God Contained

Friends, God is outside of time. That truth is something to ponder often though challenging to our finite minds. Additionally, God is a Spirit that cannot be contained. Or can He?
This morning, on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, I was praying the Litany of the same name. Prior to commencing the prayer I was contemplating why we pray to the heart and not Jesus in a general sense. I have come to understand that it is His Heart that is the source of His love and this is no different for us. We are like Him in this way when we love without reserve. Our heart houses, contains, or holds our love for our heart is our essence.
The Litany is comprised of 33 invocations (the number of years Jesus lived on this earth), a calling upon God for aid, protection, and inspiration.
In the Litany, we read this particular invocation;
The fullness of God. God, being contained in the Heart of Jesus rationalizes the bounty of God's love for us and the extent to which Jesus went to show that love. His heart was emptied on the cross
Peace to you,
John
"Heart of Jesus, in whom there
dwells the fullness of God... "
The fullness of God. God, being contained in the Heart of Jesus rationalizes the bounty of God's love for us and the extent to which Jesus went to show that love. His heart was emptied on the cross
Peace to you,
John

Friends, I bet you don't know what "winnowing" means. Maybe you do but I had no clue this morning when reading the Gospel (Lk 3:10-18). I quickly flipped to my dictionary app and learned that it was and remains a means to separate the seed from th…
