He Goes. He Comes.

He Goes. He Comes.
Friends, we have been reading about the coming of the Holy Spirit which is a good thing and a lot to grasp or try to grasp but have you ever thought about Jesus ascending to the Father and why He said it is better that He goes?

Imagine (as we should) if you were there hearing these words. As an Apostle, you have committed your life, this new way of life and want to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. He has shown you so much over the past 3 years; certainly, miracles that are, well, miraculous, but it's in His words that penetrate that enable you to believe, to have faith in Him. You signed on and now He says He is going to leave you.

Don't we want our loved ones to stay? My parents both passed many years ago but I often think of them and not only that but I think of them here, with me but that is not how "this" works. The reason is we can look forward to reunions in heaven where I will be reunited with my mother and see her without a trace of the rheumatoid arthritis that ravaged her body during the last 15 or so years of her life. We have this hope and not only hope we do have Who Jesus said He would send, the Holy Spirit who is with every one of us every moment of every day. He is our Advocate and with Jesus going to be with His Father He dispatched something that none of us can fully comprehend but we believe. He dispatched the love between the Father and the Son not just to be a replacement but to guide us, to hear us, to show us if we will but listen.

We have a God that allows us choices and the Holy Spirit is the love we can choose to accept every moment of every day. It is a gift unlike anything else.
