It's About Our Heart

Friends, how do you define the word "everything"?
Peter told Jesus in Mark 10:28-31, "We have given up everything and followed you."
I, for one, have never felt that I have given Jesus everything. Have you?
If I sold all I had, just as Jesus told the rich young man in Matthew 19:21, I too might respond like Peter. "Lord, I have given up everything..." but I know that is not true.
What does Jesus want?
Jesus wants our hearts.
To give Him our heart is to know Him to the point where everything we do is related to Him. We see Him in all people. Our work is for Him.
To know Him is to sit at His feet every day in the form of Scripture and learn who He is and learn from Him.
The word "everything" is re-defined alright. It's not everything as we know it. It's everything as Jesus knows it. It's our heart. Let us start there.
